Are You Struggling With Daily Blog Posts

Day 4 of my 90 Day Freedom Journey. Are you struggling daily to find new ideas, blog topics, and articles to write about and post to your blog?

Did you know that it’s common for writers to experience a mental block every now and then and to struggle with ideas to write about? Who said blogging was easy? It’s only a 500 word article anyway, isn’t it!

Don’t be fooled, blog posting is a difficult job!

It can sometimes be difficult to come up with an idea to write about, determining an idea for blogging, that will be entertaining and/or informative to your audience is not something that can be accomplished without proper preparation. Doing this on a daily basis can really compound the difficulty of your blogging tasks and make it insurmountable unless you have an established framework for defining new articles each day.

In this post I want to provide you with a few ideas, tips, and tricks to help spur your thoughts and get your mind back on track for blogging. This way, on that rare occasion when your mind wants to take a vacation and blocks the blogging inspiration, you will be prepared to overcome the struggle that even the best writers are challenged with from time to time.

Determine a List of Topics to Blog About

Come up with a list of topics that you like to write about or that are specific to the topic of your blog. Then  dissect the topics down to manageable subject areas that are easy to research and gather subject matter about.

For instance, I like to write about Marketing. However, Marketing in general is a broad subject category. Therefore, I would further breakdown this subject into more niche specific markets such as Social Media Marketing, Internet Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, and/or Network Marketing. A great way to dissect your topics is to use an outline to define the topics and the areas within each that you want to blog about.

Here is a sample outline that I could use for my Marketing Topic;

I could go on and on, taking each one of my topics and breaking it down to small subject areas that are easier for me to blog about.  For this example, I won’t break all of my subject areas down, but, by now you should get the general idea of how this works.

Using this approach to break down your topic areas into manageable sub-topics will not only provide you with a list of topics to write about in the future but it also makes it easier for you to gather specific information and write smaller (500 – 600 word) articles that are informative and more useful to your audience.

Approach Your Blog Topics From Different Angles

Take a different approach to writing about your topics. By writing about your topics using different angles of approach you effectively multiply the various ways that you can write about each of the articles in your topic breakdown outline that we discussed earlier.

What do I mean by this you ask?

Look at your topics by various perspectives that may be appealing to your audience. For instance, you could discuss each of your niche topics by following a simple approach of writing around;

  • Write a Review about your niche topic
  • Write a “How To” concerning your niche topic
  • Write about the “Latest Trends” in the topic
  • Write a documentary providing a history of you topic
  • Write a controversial idea about the topic

Utilizing these various writing styles will provide you with the material that you need to write informative, exciting, and sometime controversial stories about your blog topics.

When You’re Feeling Inspired

One last suggestion… When you feel inspired, Write!

Just because you have told yourself that you have to write a blog article daily doesn’t mean that you have to stop there. Consider writing multiple blog posts when you are feeling inspired and then use a tool like Live Writer to post your blog articles to your blog over a period of time.

This is a great way to leverage your blog creation juices and write articles when you are feeling inspired. It’s also a great way to take mini-breaks or long extended vacations from blog writing but still maintaining your blog daily philosophy all on auto-pilot.

Note – Do you have ideas that you would like to share that drive your creative personality when you blog? Leave a comment and share your ideas!
